According to the complaint, Johnson allegedly caused a December 2024 head-on crash that later claimed the life of 87-year-old Lewis Marvin of Union City. Assistant Prosecutor Vaughn K. Stecker authorized the warrant on July 9, a year and a half after the crash. Court records show Johnson turned herself in on July 22 and was released on a $10,000 personal recognizance bond. The Branch County Sheriff's Department reported that Johnson, then 50 and living in Battle Creek, was driving east shortly before 6 a.m. when her vehicle crossed the centerline and struck a westbound vehicle driven by Marvin, with Diane Marvin as a passenger. Both Marvins and Johnson were injured and taken by LifeCare Ambulance to Bronson Hospital in Battle Creek. Lewis Marvin died
