Platte Woods business owner sentenced to prison for tax evasion
A Platte Woods, Mo., business owner was sentenced in federal court for failing to pay more than $600,000 in federal income taxes over several years. Daniel Alan Ryan, 63, was sentenced by U.S. Magistrate Judge Jill A. Morris to one year in federal prison without parole. The court also ordered Ryan to pay a $20,000 fine and to pay $626,012 in restitution, plus interest, to the IRS.
