Letter to the editor: Resolution about non-sanctuary county is an appalling declaration
I fully concur with Task Amick-Sullivan and the eloquent words to present facts in response to the deplorable Grand County Board of County Commissioners approving a resolution that we are non-sanctuary county. What blatant gall for this group to declare such an appalling declaration. It is tantamount to saying, “We are bigots, and you are not welcome.”
Grand Lake Men’s Golf Club to open season with annual tournament
The Grand Lake Men’s Golf Club plans to open its 2024 season on May 29 with its annual Cabin Fever Tournament and dinner on June 5. Membership in the men’s golf club is open to the public. Yearly fees are $65, which includes a handicap registration in the Colorado Golf Association. The men’s club plays each Wednesday, with opportunities to play in Monday and Friday events as well.
Enjoy summer fun with the Granby Rec Department
The Granby Recreation Department has several events lined up to keep kids active this summer. The Granby Rec Department will sponsor a paintball games trip May 3 for anyone ages 10 to adult. They will travel to Dacono for hours of paintballing. The cost for this trip is $65 and the fee includes transportation, 3-4 hours of play, rental of paintball guns, safety equipment and 500 paintballs. The meeting time is 8 a.m. at the Granby Community Building, and they will return to Granby at 5 p.m.

The Granby Recreation Department hosted its seventh annual High Altitude Adult Co-ed Volleyball Challenge. This challenge was a countywide two-day tournament that took place April 9 and April 16. Wet sticks cause power outage in Kremmling area
Update, 9:22 p.m.: A representative of Mountain Parks says that updated information revealed the power outage was caused by wet sticks on a power line. New agreement will boost flow of water in Grand County
Grand County and Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District (Northern Water) have agreed to a unique and first-of-its-kind operational framework that provides Grand County with the ability to have as much as 7,000 acre-feet of additional controllable water to release from the Colorado-Big Thompson (C-BT) Project for stream enhancement and other purposes that will benefit Grand County’s recreation and agriculture industries. The volume available for streamflow improvement will be dependent on annual river conditions and C-BT Project storage levels.
