Deceased man found near Lone Eagle Peak after being reported missing at Brainard Lake
A deceased man was found this week near Lone Eagle Peak after he was reported missing near Nederland. According to a release, around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, Grand County dispatch received a report of an overdue climber in the Lone Eagle Peak area near Crater Lake in the Indian Peaks Wilderness, located in the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests.

Hikers find body in rugged terrain near 11,946-foot peak in Colorado
The body of an overdue climber was found on Lone Eagle Peak near Crater Lake in the Indian Peaks Wilderness on Tuesday, according to the Grand County Sheriff's Office. A press release on the incident indicates that emergency personnel was notified of an overdue climber in the area on the morning of July 23 at about 8:30 a.m. The reporting party informed responders that the missing person was planning to travel from Brainard to Pawnee Pass to Crater Lake, up Lone Eagle Peak, and then to Apache Peak before ending his route by traveling back to Brainard.
Amtrak train hits person on tracks just west of Granby
An Amtrak train Sunday struck a person who snuck onto the train tracks in Grand County. The California Zephyr train was traveling from Chicago to San Francisco Bay on Sunday when the conductor spotted a person on the tracks about two miles west of Granby, according to Amtrak spokesperson Marc Magliari.
