'Leap of faith' leads Ben Humrichous to Illinois
Ben Humrichous took a chance when he decided to leave Huntington University after three seasons. Potentially a big one. Humrichous didn’t have a guarantee he would find what he was searching for in a shot at the Division I level. The 2022-23 season was his best at Huntington — an NAIA program located between Indianapolis and Fort Wayne, Ind. — and even then he was only a Second-Team All-Crossroads League selection.

A series for the season
Greg Goff has done this before, at least. With Purdue baseball on the cusp of its most important series all year, and sitting on two different bubbles with a chance to win the Big Ten and play in the NCAA Tournament, Goff’s team knows what a sweep or even a series win against first-place Illinois would do.
Freed up Westcott anchors heart of Illini lineup
