NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - Winter weather returned on Thursday, and a number of crashes in central Nebraska have followed. NSP said a two-vehicle crash occurred on Highway 83, south of North Platte at 1:35 p.m. The crash involved a Ford sedan and a Dodge pickup. According to NSP, the Ford sedan lost control in winter conditions, crossed the center line, and struck the Dodge pickup.

Crash affects both directions of US 83 north of Wellfleet
NORTH PLATTE, Neb. — Drivers on U.S. Highway 83 were urged to use caution after a crash was reported north of the Wellfleet area. The Nebraska Department of Transportation issued an update at 1:50 p.m. CST saying the crash was affecting U.S. 83 in both directions between East Echo School Road and East Lone Star Road, about 11 miles north of the Wellfleet area.
