RC man, woman arrested for Grand Theft of chainsaw
Donald Jacques, 39, and Sharissa Harris, 32, were arrested on the charge of Grand Theft after stealing a chainsaw from a local hardware store Thursday afternoon. At around 1:15 p.m. on May 23rd, police were dispatched to Ace Hardware on 1724 W. Main Street for a report of a theft that had just occurred. While on the way to the address, police were advised that employees of the business were following two suspects who had just stolen a high-value chainsaw from the store.
Car crash knocks down traffic light at Anamosa-Lacrosse intersection
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) - UPDATE: Police identified the driver of the SUV that crashed into the traffic pole as Christopher Quickbear, 35, of Rapid City. It was reportedly noted the strong smell of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person, and a can of air duster was also observed in the passenger seat of the SUV. Following a DUI investigation, it was reportedly determined that Quickbear was too impaired to safely operate a motor vehicle.
Uhre sentenced to 90 days, time suspended
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - The woman found guilty on two counts of simple assault back in October of last year was sentenced Friday. Connie Lester Uhre was sentenced to 90 days in county jail with all time suspended. Uhre was found guilty of spraying people with a furniture cleaner while they were protesting in the parking lot of the Grand Gateway Hotel. At the time Uhre was one of the owners of the hotel.
