Indiana Educators selected for fellowship to bring creativity into the classroom
BEDFORD—Today, the Indiana Arts Commission (IAC) announced that 20 educators from across the state have been chosen to participate in the Indiana Educator Fellowship for Creative Teaching, a program centered on integrating the arts and creativity into the classroom. This prestigious program invites educators to participate in hands-on training sessions followed by the implementation of a full semester of arts integration activities in the classroom.

The heaviest rain has fallen across northwestern Hendricks county and across the US50 corridor from Vincennes to around Bedford. Showers will diminish this afternoon, and return Thursday night. There is another threat for 1-2 inches of rain Friday into Saturday morning.
Bedford Housing Authority chooses NSPIRE inspector
BEDFORD- NSPIRE is a method for conducting and processing inspections of HUD-assisted housing developed by HUD’s Real Estate Assessment Center (REAC). An inspector is called in and they focus on deficiencies deemed to be the most important indicators of housing quality. NSPIRE inspections may use a high sample rate and are intended to provide HUD a high level of confidence in the inspection results. The Bedford Housing Authority met Thursday, May 16 and they have decided on Midwest Inspection Service to conduct the inspections for NSPIRE, at the cost of $1,980 yearly.

Yates named new athletic director at BNL
BEDFORD – Adam Yates, who has served as an assistant athletic director for three years at Bedford North Lawrence, has been named the school’s new athletic director. Yates succeeds Jeff Callahan, who served in the position for 21 years. He is the fifth man to head the sports programs in the 50-year history of BNL, following Gil Fey, Ray Manis, Mike Short and Callahan.
