Late rally propels East to stunning 6-5 win over BNL
COLUMBUS – Columbus East scored six runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to stun Bedford North Lawrence 6-5 during high school baseball action on Wednesday night. The Olympians (5-11) took advantage of three walks and three hit batters during their late rally, then scored the winning runs on Evan Balzer’s bases-loaded infield single against BNL reliever Cam Gates.
The Board of Zoning Appeals listened to a call for an exception in fire code
BEDFORD- The Bedford Board of Zoning Appeals met today in the Community Concourse at 1402 H Street. On the agenda was a request from Bedford resident Daniel Schmidt for a variance of use for his property located on Mitchell Road. He is requesting permission to use a fire pit that is six feet in diameter, and the city ordinance states that a fire pit should be no bigger than three feet in diameter and fires should be no taller than two feet. Bedford Fire Chief Luke Pinnick was on hand and had been to the property to check out the lot in question to assess the proposed placement of the pit.
