An evidentiary hearing is set to take place in Maysville, Missouri, this summer in the case of a Missouri man who has been in prison for 33 years over the death of his wife. Ken Middleton was charged with first-degree murder after his wife died from a gunshot wound in 1990. He has maintained his innocence ever since, including in a 2004 plea deal opportunity that would have allowed him to walk free had he formally admitted guilt.
Police await blood results in I-229 wrong-way fatality crash
St. Joseph police are continuing to gather information in the wake of a wrong-way crash that claimed the life of one St. Joseph man Friday. Sgt. James Tonn with the St. Joseph Police Department said police have finished their investigation into the crash and are awaiting blood results from the driver who crashed head-on with Ryan Coffman midway through an Interstate 229 exit ramp early Friday morning.

One man was injured in a shooting late last night at Belt Bowl Entertainment. The St. Joseph Police Department said the violence occurred around 11 p.m., leaving one victim injured with a gunshot wound to the leg. The victim was taken to Mosaic Life Care by a private vehicle.
