Rain and storms expected throughout this week, becoming strong Wednesday and Thursday

Highs will be around average, in the mid 70s lowlands and upper 60s mountains, with rain and non-severe thunderstorms arriving for the afternoon and evening. Precip takes a break for much of Tuesday, and the sun is likely to shine through the afternoon, getting temperatures back to the low 80s lowlands and low 70s mountains. Storms make a return in the wee hours of the morning Wednesday, and some of those storms could get a bit strong. Damaging winds and heavy rain will be the main threat with that round of storms. Past that, another afternoon like Tuesday is on tap, before the next round of even stronger storms arrives after sunset. There, the same threats from the earlier round exist, but this time with some hail is possible in our western counties. Another round of strong thunderstorms is possible for Thursday afternoon and evening as well. Each round of storms poses a risk for flash flooding, particularly in areas that saw rounds of heavy rain this past weekend.
