Clay, N.Y. — A fire spread through a home in Clay and burned through the walls of its garage Monday afternoon. The fire was called in at 12:39 p.m. by a Moyers Corners firefighter who lives near the home at 7952 Orion Path, said Nicholas Eldred, a deputy chief with the Moyers Corners Fire Department.

New York State Police identified the Thruway Authority worker killed when he was struck by a tractor-trailer while inside a work zone Thursday afternoon. Vincent J.
