When deputies arrived, they found a white Toyota Sienna had hit a light pole head-on.

The driver told deputies he had experienced a medical emergency while heading south on Rittertown Road, which caused him to veer across the opposite lane and hit the light pole.

The driver was transported to a local hospital by Carter County EMS, the CCSO reports.

As of Monday, the crash remained under investigation.

Mountain Electric Cooperative was notified of damage to the pole following the crash.
