The developers of a Millinocket salmon farm say they expect to start construction next year
The developers of a large land-based salmon farm in Millinocket said they've secured nearly all of the necessary permits and expect to start on-site work later this year. The project was announced two years ago as a partnership between the company Katahdin Salmon and the nonprofit Our Katahdin. It would produce up to 10 million metric tons of salmon each year on the site of the former Great Northern Paper Mill.

USPS suspends changes to Hampden facility until January
United States Postal Service Postmaster General Louis DeJoy announced Tuesday he was pausing any further changes to Maine's Hampden Processing Facility until next year. The USPS announced last month they would be moving forward with plans to consolidate mail processing services at the Eastern Maine Mail Processing and Distribution Center in Hampden and transfer operations to its mail processing facility in Scarborough. The original plan was to invest $12 million into the Hampden hub, which mainly serves eastern and northern Maine.
