Advantage Valley receives $3.4M in federal grants to revitalize Vossloh Track Building
POCA, W.Va. (WCHS) — A regional development organization has secured millions of dollars in grant money to help revamp a former boiler plant in Putnam County. A $3.4 million grant from the U.S. Economic Development Administration will combine with $1.9 million in state funding to revitalize the Vossloh Track Building in Poca, according to a news release from Advantage Valley.

Hope Gas announces plans for the 6th utility acquisition
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Hope Gas has announced plans to purchase Consumers Gas Utility, pending approval from the state Public Service Commission. Consumers Gas serves about 8,500 customers in Cabell, Jackson, Putnam, Ritchie, Roane and Wayne counties.Hope Gas President and CEO Morgan O’Brien said this acquisition now puts Hope Gas in 38 of the state’s 55 counties. Like the previous five acquisitions, Hope Gas will file plans with the PSC to begin repairs and improvements to the Consumer Gas Utility system.

Mountain East Conference Baseball Tournament: UC and WVSU to meet in the championship
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WCHS) — The Mountain East Conference baseball tournament from GoMart Ballpark in Charleston will have a local feel in Sunday's championship round when the University of Charleston and West Virginia State will square off for the title at 1 PM. The Golden Eagles (42-8) are the top seed and have yet to lose in the tournament, so far going 3-0. One more victory and UC will capture the conference tournament championship.
