RIPLEY – On the verge of elimination, Ripley’s baseball team made the most of the opportunity and survived to play another day with a 7-2 sectional win against Hurricane at home. After losing to the Redskins two days earlier by a score of 3-1, the Vikings got up early to ensure a rematch the next day for the sectional crown.

(WCHS) — The Mountain East Conference baseball tournament from GoMart Ballpark in Charleston will have a local feel in Sunday's championship round when the University of Charleston and West Virginia State will square off for the title at 1 PM. The Golden Eagles (42-8) are the top seed and have yet to lose in the tournament, so far going 3-0. One more victory and UC will capture the conference tournament championship. WVSU (31-19) will need to win twice in order to win the championship and have gone 3-1 so far in the tournament.
