Garrett Schroeder, 19, Ottawa, appeared for sentencing on three counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, one a fourth-degree felony, the other two first-degree misdemeanors; illegal use of minor or impaired person in nudity-oriented material or performance, a fifth-degree felony; and menacing by stalking, a first-degree misdemeanor. He was given a 75-month prison term with credit for 61 days served in jail while his case was pending. Douglas Marihugh, 27, pleaded not guilty to felonious assault, a second-degree felony with a firearm specification and specification for the forfeiture of a weapon; domestic violence, a first-degree misdemeanor; and using weapons while intoxicated, a first-degree misdemeanor. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for June 18 and his bond was continued.
Jones waives right to speedy trial
VAN WERT—A Defiance woman was back in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court on Wednesday (May 22) on several felony charges. Summer R. Jones, 34, is charged with two counts of Attempted Murder, both first degree felonies; three counts of Felonious Assault, both second degree felonies; two counts of Aggravated Assault, both fourth degree felonies; and one count of Domestic Violence, a first degree misdemeanor.

Kobe Cutlip, 19, Melrose, appeared for sentencing on a charge of burglary, a second-degree felony; and theft, a fifth-degree felony. He was given a prison term of four years, 11 months to six years and 11 months with credit for 58 days served in jail while his case was pending, and ordered to pay $21 restitution to the victim. According to Prosecutor Morris Murray’s office, Cutlip and a co-defendant, Clinton Vanscoder, trespassed in a residence on Defiance’s Darbyshire Drive on Jan. 9 to commit a theft offense. ...

Suspect in Leipsic shooting death enters insanity plea
OTTAWA — The Lima man charged with murder in last month’s shooting death at a trucking company entered a plea of not guilty by reason of insanity late last week. According to court records, Konner Dunklee filed a written motion on Thursday, May 16 asking the court to order an evaluation to determine his competency to stand trial. Judge Keith Schierloh approved that request the following day.

Man screams at Wood County judge after hearing
BOWLING GREEN — A man screamed at a Wood County judge after appearing Monday on three charges, including assaulting a peace officer. “You made a mistake, Molly,” Tyler Brogan, 33, yelled at Common Pleas Judge Mary “Molly” Mack after appearing with his attorney Monday and having a jury trial scheduled for July. He was in leg and arm chains and wore an orange jumpsuit. He left the courtroom with his attorney, and his voice could be heard steadily rising in the back of the visitors area. As a security officer brought him through the courtroom to leave the courthouse, Mr. Brogan yelled at the judge in front of reporters, attorneys, and Judge Mack and her staff.
