Lingo's Fish and Loaves food truck offers soul food favorites in Groveland

Lingo's Fish and Loaves Grill in Groveland has been a popular food truck destination since opening in October 2021. This soulful eatery is owned and operated by the Lingo family: Johnnie, Rena, Christopher and Johnathan.

“I was always fascinated by the food trucks,” Johnnie said. “When we would go places, we would see the food trucks. I would tell my wife, you know, I want to do this one day. And so when I would cook wings or cook fish, sometimes I'd throw a sauce and make up something. And they were like, man, these wings are good. So I set the family down a few years ago and I said, hey, how would y'all like to start a family business?”

The name "Fish and Loaves" pays homage to the biblical story of Jesus feeding the multitude with fish and loaves, reflecting the Lingos' commitment to both spiritually and physically feeding people in the community.

"We are givers by nature,” Rena said. “We are kingdom givers. So you're not just going to come and get food, but we're going to impart something into your life that will make you feel good or make you feel like, you know, I can go a little further in life.”

The menu offers a mix of soul food favorites like catfish, chicken wings, chicken and waffles and more.

Their signature fish and loaves (waffles) offers a choice of catfish, whiting, tilapia or perch, served with choice of side and hush puppies for $14. Other seafood options include a fish sandwich, fish and chicken, fish and shrimp, or a combination of all three.

Lingo’s is known for its famous honey mack sauce, created by Johnnie. It comes on their famous honey mack melt which features chicken fingers, fries, cheese, bacon and the honey mack sauce. You can also grab some honey mack fries, honey mack onion rings or honey mack chicken wings.

Specials include chicken fingers, buffalo shrimp melt, chicken and waffles, salmon bites, and  2 J’s Melt. Waffles come in regular, red velvet, strawberry and blueberry.

The chicken wings are a popular choice, with options from five to 100. Grab them in the honey mack sauce, buffalo, lemon pepper, barbecue, garlic parm, mango habanero or mix your own.

They also offer breakfast specials like southern fried pork chops with grits, eggs and toast, corned beef hash, bacon, sausage and more.
