Pitt County woman arrested after illegal drugs found in search of home
PITT COUNTY — A Bethel woman was arrested after an investigation into the smuggling of illegal drugs into prisons. Law enforcement arrested Angela Wall Medlin, 44, was taken into custody after warrants were served after a search of the home at 164 Unit B on Nelson Street in Bethel.

Three juveniles, one adult arrested for Kinston shooting incident
On Tuesday, May 14, 2024, Officers from the Kinston Police Department located the suspect vehicle involved in the shooting from Monday night’s incident. A 16-year-old female juvenile was placed into custody for her involvement in the case. Also on Tuesday, officers placed two more juvenile suspects in custody for their involvement in the case (a 17-year-old male and a 15-year-old male). A fourth suspect in the case, Nas Whitfield (19-year-old male), was arrested for his involvement in the case. Whitfield was placed in the Lenoir County Detention Center under a secured bond and the three juveniles, with the assistance from North Carolina Department of Public Safety Juvenile Services were both placed in secure custody. This case is still under investigation.
