    March 31, 1941 - May 5, 2024 - Janet L. Resell was born to Willard and Blanche Resell in Bone Lake Township, Wisconsin on March 31, 1941.

    Janet lived in rural Wisconsin attending a one-room school before moving to Gresham, Oregon as a child. She later graduated from Gresham High School in 1959. She was a proud member of the Rhythmettes Dance Team while in high school. Janet met Frank Arthur Jones at the Orpheum Theater in Portland, Oregon and they were married on November 19, 1960. She worked a variety of jobs including a theater usher, gymnastics teacher, conversational English teacher, director of an English speaking school in Seoul, South Korea and working in the commercial insurance industry.

    Janet enjoyed gardening, estate sales, travel, searching for the Rose Festival Medallion during the Rose Festival, and playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was intelligent, independent, witty, and valued family. She would like to be remembered for being fun, open-minded, loyal, and for always doing what she wanted to do.

    She is survived by her sister, Sharon Roeper; daughters, Leza Hayes and Kirsten Jones; son-in-law, Brad Hayes; nephews, David Myers, Dennis Roeper and Ryan Roeper; grandchildren, Justina Jones, Danielle Hayes, Justin Jones, Jacob Hayes, Alicia Christensen, Thomas Jones; and her great grandchildren, Reidyn Jones, Deimyan Jones, Karsyn Ortiz, Atlas Nordstrom, Jude Allen-Hayes, and Ember Hayes.

    Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Blanche; her sister, Carol Myers; brother, Kermit Resell; husband, Frank Arthur Jones; and her niece, Brenda Myers.

    A committal service will be held May 16, 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Willamette National Cemetery. Please arrive at the cemetery by 10:00 am.
