Unidentified Man Killed in Greenwich Crash
A passenger who was inside of a vehicle during a crash in Greenwich on Friday night has died and state police said the man remains unidentified. State police said a New York man was driving a Cadillac Escalade on I-684 south near exit ramp 2 around 6:15 p.m. when he veered off of the highway, went into the woods and hit multiple trees.

The Greenwich Fire Department responded to reports of a structure fire near the intersection of West Putnam Avenue and Greenwich Avenue. As the units were en route, additional calls continued to pour in. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered a significant blaze at the rear of the building, with flames extending to the top floor. Thanks to an aggressive and swift attack, the fire was prevented from spreading further into the cockloft. Multiple units, including E1, E2, E3, E4, E5, T1, C4, FC3, were involved in the operation. GPD Officer Su Ah Sor demonstrated exceptional courage and quick thinking by rushing into the building to assist in evacuating the occupants and ensuring their safety. Although she needed treatment for smoke inhalation at Greenwich Hospital, she has recovered well and is now back on duty. The cause of the fire is currently being investigated by the Greenwich Fire Marshal’s Office which is asking anyone who may have pictures or video of yesterday’s fire at 22 Greenwich Ave to share the information and send it to mark.dawson@greenwichct.org.
