Here are 8 ways to celebrate Easter in the Upstate: Park service, brunch, egg hunts, dog bar

Scrambling to find something fun to do with your family this Easter? Searching for events shouldn't be an egg hunt ― the Upstate has plenty of family-friendly fun events planned leading to Easter Sunday on March 31.

When it comes to activities, there is something for just about everyone. Explore Simpsonville's Bridgeway Station as you scavenge for Easter eggs with the kids, or bring your four-legged pal along to a dog bar in Greenville so they can spend time with other furry friends.

Those who want to brunch, take the family to the Bellwether. If you are into BBQ and the outdoors, join three Spartanburg churches as they host a casual lunch with games for the family at Cleveland Park.

Here's a list that includes Anderson, Greenville, and Spartanburg Easter activities.

Anderson

Upstate Running Club Anderson Easter Sunday run/egg hunt, Sunday, March 31, 7 a.m.

Join the URC Anderson crew at the Ingles on Main Street for a five-mile Easter egg hunt on the run. The course can be adjusted to meet training needs. Afterward, hang out with the rest of the runners for a drink inside the store.

Anderson Jockey Lot Easter Event, Anderson, Friday, April 6, 10 a.m.

The egg hunt at this event is free. A $2 wristband is required to participate in activities such as bouncy houses, games, and relay races with prizes. At 12 p.m., with the weather permitting, there will be a helicopter drop.

Greenville

The Bellwether Easter Sunday Brunch, Greenville, Sunday, March 31, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Every Sunday, kids under 12 years can eat for free at the Bellwether between 10 a.m.-3 p.m. The restaurant, next to Fluor Field, will serve a special Easter Sunday brunch. Reservations are recommended for parties of eight or more.

Easter Egg Hunt at the Castle at Bridgeway Station, Simpsonville, Saturday, March 30, 1-4 p.m.

Bring your baskets and get ready for a day full of activities at Bridgeway Station. Hosted by City Market, highlights from this free event include a bounce house, Easter-themed crafts, an egg hunt in the Piazza and pictures with the Easter Bunny. Although the event is free, make sure to snag your tickets in advance.

Hoppy Easter at The Unleashed Dog Bar & Salon, Greenville, Sunday, March 31, 1 p.m.

Greenville's one-of-a-kind bar features an off-leash dog park for dogs and owners to play and socialize. It also has indoor/outdoor seating with covered patios and fans, as well as multiple TVs to watch games. The bar serves beer, wine spiked seltzers and nonalcoholic drinks. During Easter, guests can score a $1 off servings of Indian Pale Ale and champagne with a build your own mimosa bar. For more event information, visit the bar's Facebook page.

Palmetto Spring Fest by Palmetto Baptist Church, Greenville, Saturday, March 30, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

This free annual event invites the community to connect on Easter through age-specific egg hunts, bounce houses, carnival games, free candy, a soccer 3v3 speed tournament and tasty tacos. Animal lovers and children will also get the chance to see bunny rabbits at the event. Whether rain or shine, Spring Fest will run at Welcome Baptist Church. To RSVP, click here.

Spartanburg

Bunny Art Bash at Reinvintage Warehouse, Spartanburg, Saturday, March 30, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

This drop-in event, hosted by A Cut Above Maker Space, will feature four art and craft stations for children: craft a chick, create a paper egg art, paint a wooden bunny and make Peeps Play-Doh. Cookies and juice will be on hand for snacks. The Easter Bunny will be at the Maker Space between 12-12:30 p.m. Tickets are $30 in advance per child and $35 at the door. Easter Service in Cleveland Park, Sunday, March 31, 11 a.m.

Word of Change Ministries, Northside Church, and Innov8tion Point will celebrate Resurrection Sunday together at Cleveland Park. The public is invited to a BBQ lunch, family games, and an outdoor service. Guests are welcome to dress casually and are asked to bring a lawn chair to the event.
