Local Sports Update: SJCS's Lillie Hecker Hits Career Milestone, Knights' Tennis Team Dominates Eastside
SJCS senior Lillie Hecker recently reached 1,000 career kills. This happened during a 3-0 win over High Point Academy. Here, she also scored 17 kills, eight digs, and three blocks. This performance contributed to the Knights' improved record of 16-11-1. They remain unbeaten in Region 1-1A with a 5-0 record. The team is preparing for the Eastside tournament on Saturday.

Pittsburgh Grandfather Travels to Participate in Local Pickleball Tournament at Thornblade Club
Dwayne Spurlock, a Pittsburgh-based grandfather, travelled over nine hours to join the Dynamic Duo Pickleball Tournament at Thornblade Club in Greer. He was invited by his grandson, Max Petruso, a 6th grader with no prior experience in the game. They reached the semi-finals. William Doyle and Palmer Saad, seniors, won the tournament. Evan Conroy and Sydney Conroy secured the second place, while juniors Peyton Jenkins and Walker Jones took the third.

Local Varsity Knights Suffer First Season Loss to Sabres, 35-14
On Friday night, Southside Christian Sabres defeated the Knights in a Region 1-1A match, marking the Knights' first loss of the season. The final score was 35-14. Despite starting strong with a touchdown after Nathaniel Coffi's fumble recovery, the Knights were soon matched by the Sabres with a 10-yard touchdown run by Silas Robertson. The first half ended with the Sabres in the lead at 21-14.
