The Pitt County Arboretum is still seeking help to create a new visual identity through an updated logo.
It is accepting submissions through Wednesday and will offer a $500 cash prize to the person who submits the winning design.
The arboretum is a public garden at the Government Circle office complex in Greenville that opened to the public in 2002. It is primarily designed and maintained by Extension Master Gardener volunteers under the direction of Pitt County Cooperative Extension and seeks to showcase “Gardening You Can Do.”

Pitt County Cooperative Extension reserves the right to modify/extend the contest deadline if the quantity and/or quality of initial submissions is deemed not satisfactory.The contest is open only to individuals. Each entrant must live, work, or attend school in Pitt County. Graphic design students and artists are encouraged to apply. Individuals may submit up to three entries.All entries must be original work and must not include, be based on, or be derived from any pre-existing or third-party designs, trademarks or copyrighted images.All entries will be the property of the arboretum. By submitting an entry, each entrant agrees that any and all intellectual property rights in the logo design are deemed assigned to the arboretum to be used at the discretion of Pitt County Cooperative Extension.A submission into this contest constitutes permission to use the winner’s name, likeness, prize information and information provided on the entry form for publicity purposes.The arboretum reserves the right to modify the winning logo to better fit the needs of its use.
The winner must submit a scalable vector version of the winning design in both black and white/grayscale.
