    Washington dances

    Washington Variety Dance will be held from 6:30-9 p.m. today at 110 N. Gladden St., with music by DJ Justin Rouse. Admission is $10. Doors open at 6 p.m. and a line dance class begins at 6:15 p.m. Text questions to 945-1072 or 944-6198. The next social dance for Greenville USA Dance will be held from 7-9 p.m. May 18 at Turnage Theatre, 150 W. Main St., Washington, N.C. Admission is $10 per person.

    Golf tournament

    The Inner Banks Home Builders Association is hosting the second annual Trey Kuhn Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament today at Greenville Country Club. The tournament funds three scholarships to Pitt Community College for students studying construction. Trey Kuhn was a PCC student studying construction when he was diagnosed with Glioblastoma at the age of 21. Contributions may be made on the “Donate Now” page on PCC’s website and by calling the Inner Banks HBA at 702-8366.

    PFLAG meeting

    PFLAG Greenville, an LGBTQ+ advocacy group, meets at 7 p.m. on the second Thursday of the month at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 131 Oakmont Drive and via Zoom.     Food pantries

    St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Food Pantry, 401 E. Fourth St., is open from 1-3 p.m. on Thursdays serving the entire community. Parking is available behind the church on Third Street. Call 752-3482.Word of Truth Anointed Ministries, a partner agency of Foodbank of Central & Eastern NC, operates Shepherd’s Food Pantry from 1-6 p.m. every Friday.     Farmers Market

    Differently Abled Fun Fair

    Koinonia Christian Center will hold its Differently Abled Fun Fair from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 18, at the Greenville Convention Center, 303 S.W Greenville Blvd. The event is free and open to families caring for individuals with severe and profound mental and physical disabilities. Activities with a Wild West theme will include crafts, dancing, picture stations with characters, rides, games, live performances and more.

    Pesticide Collection Day

    The Pitt County Pesticide Collection Day will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on May 22, at the Pitt County Agricultural Center, 403 Government Circle. The Pitt County Cooperative Extension Center, in partnership with the NC Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services’ Pesticide Disposal Assistance Program, will be conducting the free event.
