Michigan State Police are currently investigating a deadly crash that occurred yesterday afternoon in the area of 14 Mile Road and Myers Lake Avenue. According to troopers, a 28-year-old man from Greenville died after crossing the center line and hitting a van driven by a 42-year-old man who was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

Upgrades to major interchange near Grand Rapids airport to cause monthslong closures
KENT COUNTY, MI – Detours will soon be in place in southern Kent County with construction crews beginning a multi-million-dollar road project to improve a major interchange. The Michigan Department of Transportation is investing $7.5 million to rebuild the interchange of M-6 and I-96 in Cascade Township. The location is just east of the Gerald R. Ford International Airport.

GRAND RAPIDS, MI - An injured fox kit has befriended a stuffed animal - a fox - at West Michigan Wildlife Center after being rescued by a good Samaritan. The 5-week-old fox was found April 16, lying on a road in Oceana County’s Walkerville. The fox was unable to move and was taken to the wildlife rehabilitation center in Ada.
Saugatuck Brewing to donate a portion of beer sales to support DNR habitat restoration
A new partnership between Saugatuck Brewing Co. and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources aims to give a boost to the state’s efforts to restore natural habitats. Executives from the Douglas-based brewery joined the officials from the DNR this morning on the banks of the Rogue River near Rockford to announce the new partnership. Under the deal, Saugatuck Brewing will donate a portion of sales from its Rainbow Rodeo IPA to the DNR’s effort to restore natural habitats across the state.
Man alters appearance after shoplifting at Aldi, Meijer stores, police say
KENT COUNTY, MI – Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man in Cedar Springs after he allegedly shoplifted from Aldi, Goodwill and Meijer stores. Kent County sheriff’s deputies responded around 1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 21, to a report of shoplifting at the Goodwill store. A worker saw a man leaving with stolen items.
