Blizzard open playoffs at home vs. Steamwheelers
The Green Bay Blizzard start their playoff march on Friday night when they host the Quad Cities Steamwheelers at the Resch Center. The Blizzard overcame a slow start to score at least two touchdowns in each of the final three quarters to beat the Sioux Falls Storm 51-30. Max Meylor scored seven total touchdowns, including five through the air as he went 23-28 for 265 yards. Junior Legion Regional Champs Crowned
West De Pere, Wisconsin Rapids, Neenah and Green Bay Hornets were champions of Junior Legion Baseball Regionals over the weekend. Neenah defeated Manitowoc 12-0 in the Championship game. Neenah went unbeaten in the tournament defeating Oshkosh, Manitowoc, Kaukauna and Kimberly to get there. After falling to Neenah, Manitowoc rattled off wins against Fond Du Lac 10-5, and Kaukauna 6-5 in elimination games.

WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) - Four days removed from their last game, the Woodchucks returned to regular season play with a 9-4 home win over the Rockers. The first two innings remained scoreless, till a Rockers attempt to catch Edian Espinal stealing at third went past the bag. That allowed Smith-Johnson to cruise on home and score the game’s first run. Wausau scored one run in each of their next two innings before Green Bay padded on three runs in the sixth inning to tie the game back up.
