An underdog Sandy baseball didn’t make it easy in the second round of state, forcing an extra inning. The No. 13 Pioneers almost shocked No. 4 Jesuit Wednesday, May 22. They had a 5-4 lead heading into the bottom of the 7th inning, but the Crusaders walked in a run to send it to another frame. That is when Jesuit junior Treynor Cleeland hit a three-run walk-off homer to win it. Jesuit (20-9) beat Sandy (21-8) 9-6. The Crusaders also got a home run from senior Preston Miller; while junior Cooper Hibbs went yard for the Pioneers.

Portland man arrested for murder in unincorporated Clackamas County
A Portland man was arrested Wednesday in connection to the murder of 31-year-old Kaley Ann Snow, according to the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office. Bobby Lee Grady Alsup III, 31, faces charges of second-degree murder, first-degree assault, first-and second-degree arson, first- and second-degree abuse of a corpse, first-degree theft and tampering with evidence. Snow was found dead after a fire in her home on Southeast Flavel Drive in unincorporated Clackamas County March 21. According to a press release, Alsup was already lodged in Washington County Jail on unrelated charges when a judge issued the arrest warrant. Snow and Alsup knew each other, the release stated.
Fire destroys tractors, barn in Sandy, spreads to nearby trees
SANDY Ore. (KPTV) - A barn fire in Sandy destroyed heavy farm equipment and threatened to spread on Friday, according to Clackamas firefighters. Just after 10 p.m., crews responded to the fire near southeast Ten Eyck Road and Southeast Thomas Road. The fire had spread to nearby trees and the roof of the barn collapsed by the time firefighters arrived.
