State grant will help spur economic development and tourism in McConnelsville
McCONNELSVILLE − The village of McConnelsville received $10.3 million in Appalachian Community Grant funding this month to ramp up economic development in the area. “We’re hoping this is going to bring some tourism to the location through streetscapes and parks and recreation,” said Village Administrator Tim Lewis. “Right now, our main tourist attraction is the Opera House that is still open today and we show movies. We don’t have a great park facility, though. This is going to give us a major riverside aspect to the park, and we’re hoping this is going to be a large attraction.
