GLASGOW, WV (WOWK) – The plan to clean up the town of Glasgow is a hot topic among residents.

Monday night’s council meeting was packed. The meeting comes as some residents are frustrated about receiving letters from the town last week claiming their yards were in violation of town code.

Glasgow Mayor Donald Fannin said 19 letters were sent out, and that most people were happy to comply, while some were frustrated about the potential fines for non-compliance. One person even called for the town to become unincorporated.

Mayor Fannin tells WOWK 13 News they’re working with residents to clean things up in a way that’s acceptable to both parties.
