DECATUR, Tennessee — A memorial ride for Tabitha Smith has been scheduled for Saturday, March 9 in Decatur. According to an event posted on Facebook, the event is open to the public. Hamilton County Feb 20 Weekly Crime Report: 1030 Incidents and 14 Crime Stories. During the last week, Hamilton County has been the site of 1030 reported crime incidents. The most common crime reported was classified as 'Other', with 348 cases, making up 33.8% of the total crimes. This was closely followed by theft, which accounted for 279 cases, or 27.1% of the total. Assault cases were the third most common, with 180 incidents reported, constituting 17.5% of the total. More severe crimes such as shootings were significantly less frequent, with 50 incidents reported, making up nearly 4.9% of the total crimes. Meanwhile, arrests and vandalism each accounted for 35 cases, or 3.4% of the total. Suspicious situations were noted 32 times, domestic-related incidents were reported 27 times, while burglary and trespassing were less frequent, with 18 and 13 cases respectively. The least reported crime was robbery, with only 1 incident reported. The data shows a worrying trend of high crime rates in the place, with a particular concern for theft and assault cases.

BIRCHWOOD, Tenn. (WDEF) – The woman who died when a Meigs County Deputy drove into the Tennessee River last week is being remembered by many. A memorial to Tabitha Smith, who died in the tragedy on the night of February 14, sits in Meigs County right next to the Blythe Ferry boat ramp where she died.
Bradley County commences new dirt work on Cedar Street Property
WARREN, Ark. – Bradley County’s Cedar Street property, located just south of the Bradley County Courthouse, saw the initiation of a new round of dirt work by county crews on Tuesday afternoon, February 20, 2024. Danny Adair from the Bradley County Road Department says efforts are underway to clear sand from the westernmost section of the block, which had been temporarily deposited following the demolition of previous structures on the site. Once the sand is removed, crews plan to fill the area with gravel, topped with dark ground rock to match the central portion of the property seamlessly.
