SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – A man has been indicted for inappropriate contact with a student while he was an employee at Robert W. Groves High School in Garden City.

According to court documents returned Wednesday, Elliott Brown allegedly made comments to a female student, under the age of 16, about her body and what he desired to do to her.

The indictment also alleges he touched the teenager inappropriately.

The crimes happened between August 2023 and January 2024, according to the documents.

Brown has been indicted for one count of child molestation and one count of criminal attempt to commit improper sexual contact.

The Savannah Chatham County Public School System (SCCPSS) released the statement below:

SCCPSS is aware of charges filed against Elliot Brown, a former SPED Paraprofessional at Groves High School. The charges stem from allegations of an inappropriate relationship with a student that were first reported to the district on January 31, 2024.

Administrators took immediate action and Mr. Brown was reassigned to a location where he had no interaction with students while an investigation was conducted. Mr. Brown submitted his resignation eight days later. Mr. Brown had worked for the district since November 12, 2013.

The district takes any accusation of inappropriate conduct by an employee very seriously. The matter was reported to the Georgia Professional Standards Commission and the administrative portion of the investigation was concluded.

The case remains active in the prosecution phase and any further inquiries should be directed to the Chatham County District Attorney’s Office.”
