First Alert Weather Day Wednesday: Rain to risk of heavy snowfall & gusty winds
WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) - A First Alert Weather Day has been issued from Wednesday into Wednesday evening as a winter storm will be impacting northern and central Wisconsin. Initially, rain will move into the region early Wednesday morning, mixing with and going to snow first in the Northwoods during the mid-morning hours, with a progression of the rain/snow line to the southeast as the day goes along. Most locations will eventually change to snow by the afternoon as temperatures fall to near and below freezing. Gusty winds will also be a concern, which will cause low visibility, blowing and drifting snow, along with creating hazardous travel conditions on snow-covered roads. The snow tapers off to snow showers Wednesday evening, with the flakes ending by midnight Wednesday night.
