Motorcyclist suffers serious injuries following crash in Wisconsin
SANBORN, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities say one man suffered serious injuries Sunday afternoon following a crash involving a car and a motorcycle in northern Wisconsin. According to a release from the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office, emergency personnel from the City of Ashland, the Bad River Fire Department, and the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office responded at 2:24 p.m. for multiple calls about a crash at the intersection of US Highway 2 and Maple Street in the Township of Sanborn.

Ashland, Wis.- The BRICK Ministries Food Shelf is on the move again, only temporarily. According to a post on Facebook, starting May 1 the pantry will be relocated to the United Presbyterian-Congregational Church. That building is on the corner of Vaughn and 3rd Street. Door four will be the new entrance. The relocation is due to the construction at the main facility. The building should be reopened at the end of June. Hours will remain as normal.

Bike lanes could be added to several Ashland roadways in the coming months to make the city more bicycle-friendly. New rustic road approved south of Mt. Telemark
Governor Tony Evers and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation have approved a new rustic road designation in the towns of Spider Lake (Sawyer County) and Cable (Bayfield County). The 9.4-mile Rustic Road 125 encompasses the paved Telemark Road south of Highway M in Bayfield County and the gravel Spider Lake Fire Lane between Telemark Road and Highway 00, roughly parallel to the Birkebeiner Trail. I The rustic road curves along hilly, glaciated country through Bayfeld County and Sawyer County Forests. The Namekagon River and a network of trails for mountain biking, cross-country skiing and all-terrain vehicles cross the route. “Local communities nominate these routes to offer something special,” said WisDOT Secretary Craig Thompson, “and on behalf of all of us who enjoy a path less traveled, we thank them for their collaboration.”

Bayfield, Wis.- Artist fees have been reduced ahead of this year’s 61st annual Festival of Arts. The Bayfield Chamber and Visitor Bureau manages the event and they’ve decided to reduce fees to make the festival more accessible. Booths will now be $150 for a single or $200 for a double. Anyone who has been a chamber member for a year will receive an additional discount. The event will take place on September 7 and 8 this year.
