Hear those cheers and metal bats?
That's the sound of postseason softball.
It returns to Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium this weekend for the first time in two years as Florida softball hosts the NCAA Gainesville Regional.
The Gators, seeded fourth overall, welcome in-state foes Florida Gulf Coast, Florida Atlantic and South Alabama to North-Central Florida.
The regional tournament is double-elimination with two games in the opening round on Friday: 1-seed vs. 4-seed and 2-seed vs. 3-seed. The winners and losers of each matchup will play Saturday. The undefeated team will advance to the final, while the team with two losses is eliminated. Both teams that are 1-1 will play a second game on Saturday with the winner advancing to the final on Sunday. That team will have to beat the undefeated team twice to advance into Super Regionals.

UF will kick off action vs the Eagles Friday at noon.

Game 3: Winner of game 1 vs Winner of game 2, 1 p.m.
Game 4: Loser of game 1 vs Loser of game 2, 3:30 p.m.
Game 5: Loser of game 3 vs Winner of game 4, 6 p.m.
Sunday, May 19
Game 6: Winner of game 3 vs Winner of game 5, Time TBD
Game 7 (if necessary): Winner of game 3 vs Winner of game 5, Time TBD
