Ahmad Hardy injury update | Eli Drinkwitz on star Mizzou RB’s possible return
Ahmad Hardy was back at Missouri football practice on Monday, per head coach Eli Drinkwitz , which is the first step in getting the All-American back in pads and on the football field for a game. But, there’s still an indefinite — and unknown — timeline for Hardy’s ability to actually get back to Saturday action. “Ahmad practiced yesterday, full participant in practice, and we'll see how his body responds today,” Drinkwitz said. “We really don't have any timelines on a return. Our goal is to just make sure he's able to play and protect himself (as) best he can. So that will be our guide. We'll be really attuned to how he's feeling, how he feels like he can best perform, and we'll rely on him and the doctors to make decisions based off of if and when he will be available this year.” Hardy, who sustained a gunshot wound to his thigh while attending a concert in May in Laurel, Mississippi, has missed the Tigers ’ opening seven games of the season. Prospective Mizzou basketball guard CJ Gunn eligibility chase hits snag
Prospective fifth-year transfer guard CJ Gunn has hit a snag in his court battle to play in the 2026-27 campaign for Missouri basketball. Gunn's hearing for a preliminary injunction against the NCAA in Boone County, scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 27, was canceled earlier in the day. Gunn was granted a temporary restraining order against the NCAA on Oct. 14 that was valid through Tuesday, Oct. 27. In order to procure a more permanent eligibility ruling, and in alignment with the expiration of the TRO, a hearing for a preliminary injunction was set up for Oct. 27. It did not happen. According to CaseNet filings, attorneys representing both Gunn and the NCAA met virtually, but not to discuss a possible injunction. According to court documents reviewed by the Tribune, Gunn’s representation “does not request a new setting for a preliminary injunction hearing,” the judge wrote in a written order extending the guard’s TRO. Judge Jeff Harris, who is overseeing the case, extended the temporary restraining order in the case through 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2, “because the grounds for relief still exist.” But that won’t be enough for Gunn to be eligible for the official beginning of the new season.
