MISSOULA — As grizzly bears begin to emerge from their dens this spring in search of food, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and other wildlife managers are asking for the help of residents and visitors in grizzly country to #KeepBearsWild. The Service reminds the public to remain vigilant and take proactive actions to avoid bear conflicts. Male grizzly bears tend to emerge from their dens in March and April, and females with cubs typically appear in April and May.

According to the Montana Department of Public Health & Human Services, 1,666,257 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered and 574,061 Montanans are fully immunized. In Missoula, 235,073 doses have been administered and 78,612 people are fully immunized. 65% of Missoula's eligible population are fully vaccinated, which is tied for the most in the state. Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On March 22, 2023, at approximately 4:00 a.m., a Missoula Police Department officer was patrolling near a casino in the 3800 block of Brooks Street. During this time, he pulled into the casino parking lot and observed two vehicles. He also observed a male in a camouflage jacket smoking a cigarette. When the male saw the officer’s car, he quickly moved inside the casino.
