4-H Shooters Hit the Mark
This past Saturday, the Teton County 4-H shooting team showcased their skills at the 2024 Pondera Invitational and Postal match held in Conrad. Ten sharpshooters represented Teton County, led by seasoned members Paisley Stewart, Peyton Rapp, Kyndal Becker and Nolan DeBruycker, along with teammates Leah Paulson, Dylan Ulsh, Logan Becker, Blaise Skierka, Hannah Meyer, and Jack Tacke. The team was accompanied by coaches Alan Peace, Luke Stewart, Chris Tacke, Tytus Rapp, and Ryan DeBruycker.
Conrad vs Tower Hill Basketball Game
On February 17th, Conrad hosted Tower Hill for a varsity basketball game at 2 pm. The Red Wolves fell short in the first quarter against the Hillers, with a score of 9-10. Latrell Wright headed into the second quarter strong by scoring 5 points in the first 30 seconds of the quarter. The Red Wolves and the Hillers were tied at halftime with a score of 24-24. The 4th quarter ended 46-46 which put the game into overtime. Conrad played hard winning the game 58-54.
Plans for repurposing Historic Shelby High in the making
A public hearing was held during the regular City Council meeting on Monday, Feb. 5, at 6:30 p.m. All Council members were in attendance of the meeting and hearing. The hearing was in regards to the “Review of Environmental Record- Historic Shelby High.” Community Development Director Lorette Carter gave the Council an overview of this history of the building and then explained the environmental review process to them. She also provided the environmental review form to those in attendance.
Sing Along With Shelby
The Shelby Community Choir's practice begins this Sunday night over at St. Luke's Lutheran. Everyone between the ages of 13, to 100 plus, are invited to come over & sing along. It will be like Mitch Miller, in the olden days... Practice is this Sunday night, from 6, to 7:30. The Shelby Community Concert, is set for Friday, March 22nd. Spring's on the way, & Shelby's alive with the sound of music.
Choteau Elementary Launches Kids Heart Challenge to Support Children with Heart Conditions and Promote Student Health
The Kids Heart Challenge has started at Choteau Elementary. This initiative aims to support children with special heart conditions. Students are encouraged to register and participate in activities, with rewards such as a wristband and the opportunity to win the Classroom Challenge. The classroom with the most participation will receive additional physical education time.

Where’s Shelby’s Lenten Lunch Tomorrow?
St. Luke's Lutheran, here in Shelby, will be hosting tomorrow's (Thurs) Lenten Luncheon. The luncheon will commence at noon. Spring's definitely on the way to our Big Sky...Next Thursday's Lenten Luncheon, on the last day of the month, the 29th, will be at St. Williams Church, in Shelby, at noon. Happy Spring!!
On to Divisionals
The Lady Badgers went to Shelby for the District Tournament for a right to move on to Divisionals. The Badgers went in as the number one seed and got a bye for the first game. The Badgers first game was a feisty Heart Butte Warriors team. The Badgers took a 30-22 halftime lead in a strong second quarter. The Badgers limited the Warriors to 4 points in the third quarter. As usual, the Badgers never let up and won the game 51-38 As a team the Badgers had 29 total rebounds. They also were unselfish by dishing out 12 assists and had 11 steals. The Badgers were led defensively by Braedyn Johnson. She continued to shut down her opponent. Aubrey Hamlett and Kyleigh Sivertsen controlled the inside with their rebounding (7 each)and timely scoring. Ashlyn Korst came off the bench and hit two huge three-point shots to increase the lead. Korst finished with 9 points. Sophia Mortag ran the offense with great passing and ball handling. She had 4 assists and 4 steals. Mortag also finished with 12 points. Mackenzie Hauk also played amazing defense and led the Badgers in scoring with 19 points, including 9-10 from the line.
Coyotes finish in 3rd place at District 1B tournament
The Shelby Coyotes placed third at the District Tournament last week, defeating Conrad 61-39, losing to Fairfield 64-52, then defeating Choteau 54-41, and Chinook 70-54. The Coyotes opened the Tournament against the host team, Conrad Cowboys. First game tournament jitters were present in the first quarter, and the Coyotes played the Cowboys even 12-12. Shelby settled in and separated from the Cowboys with solid defense and good shooting to take a 31-18 lead at the half.

Tomorrow (Wed) night's the night for the Shelby Gas Annual Meeting! This high octane affair will fire up at 7 o'clock SHARP out at the Marias River Electric Hospitality Room. Auditions TODAY In Conrad!
The Missoula Children's Theatre production of Jack & the Beanstalk, will be THIS Saturday afternoon in Conrad. The "Theatre" will be holding auditions today in the Conrad High School Auditorium. The auditions will run from 3:40, to 5:40. Don't worry about a thing, but for those who will be auditioning this afternoon, please plan to arrive by 3:35 SHARP, & plan to hang out for the full 2 hours. Conrad Ranch Owner, Lisa Schmidt, Appointed to Board Position by Governor Gianforte
Montana's Governor Greg Gianforte has appointed Lisa Schmidt to a board position. Schmidt is a ranch owner and operator from Conrad. She has experience in journalism and agriculture education, and was a trustee of Conrad Schools. Schmidt contributed to the development of Montana's trades and technology program.
