CHOTEAU, Mont. - The Mayor of Choteau has issued an alert to local homeowners, explaining the reasons for the massive hikes in recent home appraisals. The intent of the letter is to explain the reasons for the 43% average increase in Teton County, among the highest increases in the state, estimated in 2023. Mayor Chris Hindoien also responds to past suggestions from state lawmakers that local governments are primarily responsible for recent tax increases throughout the state.
One dead, two injured in single vehicle crash near Brady
BRADY, Mont. – One person is dead and two are injured from a single vehicle crash on Interstate 15 outside of Brady around noon Nov. 23. Montana Highway Patrol reported that they were all driving northbound in a Dodge Dakota around mile marker 328 when it began to fishtail on ice. The driver overcorrected and caused the vehicle to trip and roll over multiple times. No one in the car was wearing their seatbelt and all were ejected from the car.

The session's entitled, "Who Gets Grandma's Pie Plate & Grandpa's Pocket Watch?" There'll be refreshments & light snacks too, although it goes without saying, "they probably won't be served up on Grandma's old pie plate...someone else got it along with grandfather's pocket watch.
