Water Leak Causes Temporary Outage in Fredonia
Fredonia city crews will be repairing a water leak today. Due to the repair work, there will be an interruption of water service starting around 11am in the 100 and 200 blocks of S. 4th Street. The water outage will be for approximately two hours. Crews will be working to restore service as quickly as possible.
Accident Leaves One Injured Near Parsons
A two vehicle accident in Neosho County leaves one man with serious injuries. Just before 3pm yesterday afternoon, a 2020 Ford F350 driven by 53 year old Calvin Kendall of Erie was driving northbound on US 59 about 9 miles north of Parsons. Kendall slowed to make a left turn when 51 year old Robert Hanson of Sugar Creek, Missouri, attempted to pass. Hanson's 2015 Jeep Wrangler then struck the F 350. Hanson sustained serious injuries and was taken to Freeman West Hospital in Joplin for treatment. Kendall and his passenger, 50 year old Andrew Eck of Redfield, were both uninjured. All three men were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.

Sheriff: 2 caught in act of rural Kansas burglary
MONTGOMERY COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating two suspects who were caught in the act of burglary. On November 30, a property owner south of Independence, Kansas reported to sheriff's officials they were watching on camera as two subjects were actively removing items from their property, according to Sheriff Ron Wade.

CLAY COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a series of thefts in the Kansas City area. On Monday, police in Liberty asked the public for assistance in identifying two individuals who are involved with the recent wallet thefts. They've racked up over $58,000 in charges on stolen credit cards.

Neodesha FD Delivering Presents with Santa
The Neodesha Fire Department will be helping Santa deliver presents on one of their fire trucks. Starting Wednesday, December 20th through Christmas Eve at noon, Neodesha FD will take in presents to be delivered to children on Christmas Eve with Santa in the fire truck. Presents brought in need to be wrapped and clearly labeled with the child's first and last name and the address of the home so they can properly deliver them If there are multiple presents in a bag for multiple children all of the presents need to be properly marked so they don't get mixed up.
