Elk County Deputy Assists in Vehicle Pursuit
Elk County Sheriff deputies assist Greenwood County Sheriff in a pursuit. Earlier today, Elk County dispatch received a call from the Greenwood County Sheriff’s office that they had a deputy in a vehicle chase that was heading into Elk County. Deputies were dispatched and located the vehicle at Highway 99 and Rock Road. The Greenwood County officer had a man in custody but a woman fled the scene.

The Independence Lions Club is holding a ham and bean feed tomorrow. Independence Chamber President Lisa Wilson says it's a great way to get some great food. Michael McGinnis Junior of Liberty Kansas and William McGinnis of South Coffeyville Oklahoma are both now charged with first-degree murder.
