FORSYTH, Ill. (WCIA) — This week, the Village of Forsyth is hosting their 2024 Village Clean Up Days at the Public Works facility.

According to a Village release given to Forsyth residents, the cost of their waste management agency’s usual door-to-door services have nearly tripled unexpectedly. While these funds get reassessed, Village officials opted to let locals come to them for waste collection this year.

Due to Tuesday’s ongoing tornado watch in Macon County, Village officials are encouraging locals to wait until 9 p.m. to drop off items. They clarified that waste can be placed into dumpsters before then if absolutely necessary, but no help will be available as staff will not arrive until 9 p.m.

Wednesday through Saturday, the Clean Up Days will last from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. — except for Thursday, in which hours will extend to 7 p.m. The Public Works facility is located at 580 East Cox Street. Visitors must bring an ID to prove they are a Forsyth resident.
