Proud of its Graduating Senior Class, Somerville High School Installs Photo Tribute on Front Lawn
SOMERVILLE, NJ - Row after row of smiling faces have popped up on the front lawn of Somerville High School, 275 placards reflecting the relief, joy and achievement of high school graduation. Congratulations to the proud members of the 2024 Class of Somerville High School.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE FREE TAPINTO.NET NEWSLETTER One-by-one, principal Jerry Foley, with an assist from staff members, planted the images on Friday afternoon in advance of the annual graduation ceremony at 4 p.m., Thursday, June 20, continuing a tradition that began five years ago at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Helping out were Jennifer DePace, assistant principal; Dave Damaschke, supervisor of Guidance, Tim Davis, athletic director and Kurt Lorentzen, business teacher. Foley said the outdoor gallery is popular with students, many of whom pose for pictures with parents, family and friends at the conclusion of graduation ceremonies. Once they're finished taking their photos, most students remove the signs to bring home as another memento of their years spent at SHS, according to Foley. For more local news, visit TAPinto.net

Bernards High Students Excel in New Jersey Science League Chemistry I Division
BERNARDSVILLE, NJ - Bernards High students competing in the Chemistry I division of the New Jersey Science League placed 7th in the state from a pool of 72 competing schools. Two students placed in the top 10% of competitors in the state: Lucian Spiteri placed 24th and Dheirya Tyagi placed 3rd in the state competition. New Jersey Science League is an extracurricular program through which students compete in tests from a variety of science topics. Chemistry I is aimed at first year chemistry students, with competitions happening four times a year. The Chem I team is supported by BHS Chemistry teacher, and team advisor, Christine Whitlock.
