Death of Woman at Raritan Public Library Deemed Not Suspicious
RARITAN, NJ - Raritan Borough Police are investigating the death of a 44-year-old woman after she was found April 20 at 9:45 a.m. bleeding in the bathroom of the Raritan Borough Public Library, on East Somerset Street. According to Sgt. Everett Holt, the Somerville woman was found suffering from several self-inflicted wounds to her arms.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE FREE TAPINTO.NET NEWSLETTER Officers started lifesaving measures, Holt said, and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital BLS and ALS units also responded to the scene to assist. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Holt said a preliminary report deemed the woman's death to be non-suspicious. The Northern NJ Regional Medical Examiner's Office will perform an autopsy at a later date. SOMERVILLE, NJ - A Somerset County Grand Jury has indicted Daniel Matthews, 44, of Brooklyn, and Andrew Mumby, 47, of New Brunswick for the December 29, 2023, murder of Franklin resident Artis Young, 46, according to Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald. Matthews and Mumby were indicted on charges of 1st degree murder, 1st degree felony murder, 2nd degree conspiracy to disturb human remains, 2nd degree disturbing human remains and two counts of 3rd degree hindering apprehension.
