Measure to close Boulder’s airport qualifies for 2024 ballot
City of Boulder voters may soon decide whether to close the municipal airport for the first time in the city’s history. Organizers with the ballot measure committee, Airport Neighborhood Campaign, have gathered enough signatures to place a measure on the November ballot to decommission the Boulder Municipal Airport “as soon as reasonably feasible,” city officials confirmed on June 13. A separate but related measure to redevelop the land into a “sustainable, mixed-use neighborhood” also qualified for the ballot, officials said.

Broomfield council votes against combined charter changes on ’24 ballot
The Broomfield City Council rejected an ordinance Tuesday night that would combine over a dozen changes to the city and county charter into one ballot question. In a 5-4 vote, the council struck down the proposed ordinance, 2238, which would repeal the city and county’s charter and enact a new measure with numerous changes. The proposed changes included technical amendments like changing “city” to “city and county” throughout the document as well as changes to term limits.
