Reintroduced wolf found dead in Colorado, second dead wolf in month
For the second time in April, a dead wolf has been found in Colorado. According to Marianne Goodland of the Denver Gazette, US Fish and Wildlife Service public affairs specialist Joe Szuszwalak has confirmed that one of the 10 wolves that were released into Colorado as part of the reintroduction program that launched in December was found dead in Larimer County. Student may have had weapon in backpack at Milliken school
The principal of a middle school in Northern Colorado says they are working with police after receiving a report that a student brought a weapon to school in their backpack. Milliken Middle School is in Milliken, which is located to the southwest of Greeley in Weld County. The principal says administrators at the school plan to take appropriate disciplinary measures. An email was sent to parents about the situation and it included the statement that "At no time were our students or staff in any danger." It went on to read: "We will work closely with local police any time there is a potential threat to any of our schools."
Loveland woman rescues horses from slaughter
Each year, tens of thousands of horses are shipped across the border to Canada or Mexico for slaughter, according to the Humane Society of the United States. One Colorado woman is now making it her mission to take in as many of those horses as she can.

I am not new to Colorado however I am new to the Longmont community. During my short time here serving as an Interim Chief Executive Officer, I have quickly realized how important our hospital is to this community. Longmont United Hospital has had a presence in this community since 1906 and we have the privilege of serving the people of this community when they are at their greatest need. We also realize that this particular area of Northern Colorado is rapidly growing and is the second fastest growing community in all of Colorado. People choose to move here because of the beauty of the mountains, the outdoor activities, and what this community has to offer even new residents, like myself and my family.
