$400K Show Me Cash jackpot won in Festus

FESTUS, Mo. – A Missouri Lottery player’s decision to gas up turned into a six-figure pit stop after buying a winning Show Me Cash ticket.

The player purchased the ticket at On the Run, 620 Truman Boulevard, in Festus ahead of the April 20 drawing. His ticket matched all five numbers drawn that night: 12, 17, 23, 31, and 34.

“I play Lotto twice every week and Show Me Cash every once in a while,” he said. “I just happened to see how high (the Show Me Cash jackpot) had gotten, so I bought a $5 Quick Pick ticket.”

Show Me Cash is a daily draw with jackpots that start at $50,000 and grow until someone wins. The chances of winning the top prize are around 1 in 575,757.

The jackpot had grown to $400,000. After confirming the winning numbers, he shared the good news with his wife and daughter.

“They said, ‘What?!’’ he said. “This don’t ever happen to me. They wanted to see the ticket!”
