Songs in service: May Erlewine reflects on music, community, and public radio
Musician May Erlewine will be one of the featured performers at the upcoming Public Radio 90 benefit concert at Strega Nonna in Negaunee, bringing with her an approach to songwriting and performance that centers on connection, presence, and service. In conversation ahead of the event, Erlewine described a creative process that often unfolds in public, with songs taking shape through performance and audience response rather than waiting for a sense of completion behind the scenes. Live shows, she explained, are a space where music reveals what it still needs, whether on stage or later in the recording process.

On a side note, a 22cm Blue ice screw might have been misplaced there. We would like to get it back to the owner if anyone comes across it!

Ice Conditions Report New Years Edition!
Much like the rest of the Midwest, the Upper Peninsula was just hammered with a holiday ‘Cyclone Bomb” which dumped nearly 24 inches of snow in the Munising area. The tree are blanketed in snow, some trees came down over trails, and the backcountry access will be through some deep drifts. We did run into an Indiana climber yesterday who boot packed out to Sweet Mother Moses so the Lakeshore trail is somewhat packed that far! Contined cold temperature have healed up many of the higher flow climbs after last weeks warm weather. All in all we are very thankful for the current ice climbing conditions!
