FERN (WLUK) -- A boy lost in the woods in Florence County was thankfully found within two hours over the weekend. On Saturday, Florence County dispatch received a call at 4:15 p.m. saying a 4-year-old boy went missing while walking with his family in the woods in the town of Fern.

75 degrees colder? Remote Michigan spot sets record for “feels like” cold plunge
IRON MOUNTAIN, MI -- At 4 p.m. Tuesday, residents in Iron Mountain were experiencing unseasonable temperatures with the “feels like” temperature hitting 64 degrees. Just 12 hours later, those same residents were reminded that it is in fact still February as the “feels like” temperature at 4 a.m. Wednesday was -11. According to the National Weather Service’s Marquette, Michigan station, the 75-degree “feels like” difference is the largest 12-hour change ever recorded for that area. The next largest change occurred in 1980 when the “feels like” temperature moved 61 degrees.

IRON RIVER - Community Kids 4-H had a busy start the year. In October some of the members attended 4-H’s Awards Banquet at George Young’s. Each member was awarded a certificate for what they participate in the previous year. Community Kids also had a tree in the Christmas Tree Galleria. All decorations on the tree were made by the members. Keeping in the spirit of Christmas the club decorated the Caspian Post Office, and signed Christmas cards that were delivered to Iron River Care Center. Members included are, Chaslynn, Rayne, Ellianna, Izzy, Riley, Layla, Kadance, Alice, Isabella and Piper. Leaders are Karen and Sheri.
