New efforts to rebuild Hodag Park in Rhinelander
RHINELANDER, Wis. (WJFW) - Warmer months are approaching, and many people are going to be looking for ways to cool off. A local park is working on a new way to do so. Hodag Park in Rhinelander has been around for a long time and now, it is starting to get more attention, with plans to expand the playground and add a new splash pad. Kiwanis Club of Rhinelander has been around for over 50 years, helping the community with keeping up on recreational activities such as parks and hiking trails. Kiwanis board member Brandon Karaba said they have a special mission.

The Hodags came into this matchup on a five-game losing streak, looking to get back in the win column for the first time since April 4th. Overall, Rhinelander was 1-8 on the year and held a 1-4 conference record, putting them in 6th place in the Great Northern Conference.

Two hurt in crash north of Rhinelander
Two people went to the hospital after a crash on Highway 17 north of Rhinelander. The Pine Lake Fire Department said they got called out to assist at 3:45 p.m. Thursday.
